BIO

R.Jay, coming straight from South London, been brought up in a family of different musicians, mainly singers. So being influenced by family members, I started singing from a very young age.
Through out the years I have performed at various gospel event due to being a Christian, many talent contests in primary and secondary school. By then I was really inspired and wanted to take it
up to the next level. I used to be in a group called ‘Urban Solutions’ it consisted of 3 rappers and 1 singer (RJay), along the line we all wanted different things and the group eventually split. A few years later in my final year at college, I began to pick back up the music and decide to chase it while balancing it with the academic side of thing. So again i got involved with sixth form music events which built my confidence levels up. I then began to get into the studio and record things i had written, I began to enquire about getting myself onto various different YouTube channels to get more recognition across the web.
My firstFeature was MilliPix’s ‘Sing Out Loud Sundays’
After receiving quite a lot of love from that I began to write to various music genre’s that I really love such as; Acoustic, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, House, Garage, and Reggae.
Months passed and I had been doing collaborations with a few rappers, such as ‘YoungBirds’, ‘T-Mar’ and a few members from ‘BEV Gang’.
 also did an acoustic song with a singer called ‘Tamia Soul’ we did a cover video for my Youtube channel.
My confidence started to get stronger and stronger as I kept performing at shows and doing cover video’s. I then decided to put together a CD, so when I go to shows to network I would have some material to give out. Recently, I’ve been performing at bigger and better venues and showcases, a close relative of mine has band and they got me involved with performing at some of there shows such as;
  • Pasha Night Club (Victoria)
  • Private Weddings
  • McQueen’s Bar (Old Street)
  • Cafe de Paris (Picadilly)
I’ve also recently performed at The Coronet Threate for the UK’s first ever Jerking Show, Battle of the Crews.
Also in G-Shock (Shoreditch).
After finally finishing college, I finally had the chance to put my more time into music. I started of by stepping out of the box and featuring on ‘KnwMeTv’
Music Video’s due to stepping out my my box, a few artists began to contact me in regards to collaborations, I featured on track with ‘Winderz – Prophecy’
Then very recently I released a brand new video of an acoustic track that’s coming out with my ‘Music is Life’ EP. R.Jay – Your Gone.
